Flowers (1970)
After researching Andy Warhol further I found he turned to flowers to take in inspiration. One of my favourite pieces I found was this one. I found the way the flowers are brightly coloured and the grasss has texture really catches the eye. I like the way the flowers are highly contrasted and bright as it shows the textire of the foreground and background. I want to take inspiration from this image as I really like the idea of the flowers being exaggerated and over the top. This adds a beauty element to almost look like a decorative piece but also I feel it represents the fact off how strange it is when you think about it that we use flowers to respect someone who has passed. This strange action is reflected in this piece I art as the flowers are a totally exaggerated colour to normal. The shape is also a 'typical flower' and this I take inspiration from as it's why we do and don't question it. It's almost expected when someone passes away or an event in which we pay respect to someone.
I really overall like this image and love the idea I have taken from it. To take more inspiration from this I want to try and recreate some images that maybe look similar with the exaggerated flower.
